They can be very stupid and careless when they are babies. I felt sorry for the bird but it was already dead so I threw it on the balcony and went back to bed. My cat soon followed me – without the corpse. I figured she got bored of her toy, but then I heard some noise on the balcony and saw a shadow in the corner of my eye. So I got up again and went to inspect the balcony. The bird was gone! I could have sworn it was dead when I was holding it in my hand. The only thing left of it was a couple of tail feathers on the floor. I hope it survived but it might have died of shock after making the lucky escape. I wish I had taken a photo when I had the chance!
